If you suffer from wrinkles or lines around your hands, eyes, or mouth, you may have considered many types of dermal facial fillers. However, if you haven’t considered Radiesse, now is the time to look at all of the benefits that it can offer for you.

How it Works

Radiesse is a synthetic, injectable dermal filler that stimulates the natural collagen production in your skin. The synthetic formula offers immediate changes to your appearance, and with the increase in collagen production, it can benefit your skin for a longer time. While you will immediately notice results, the full change will be seen one week after your treatment. These results can last up to two years before patients need a second treatment.

Many HIV patients who have experienced significant tissue loss in their faces are also ideal candidates for Radiesse treatment.

Radiesse is made with a specific formula that helps to stimulate natural collagen production in patients. Additionally, the gel will immediately help to reduce or eliminate the appearance of wrinkles or lines in the areas where it is applied.

The actual compound makeup of Radiesse is comprised of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) gel microspheres. While the gel helps to reduce the appearance of the fine lines, the CaHa is a naturally occurring substance in your body. The focused application of CaHa promotes the production of collagen in the immediate area. As Radiesse is naturally absorbed by your body, the natural collagen production continues for up to two years.

The Treatment

Radiesse treatments are performed right in our office, so you don’t have to schedule a surgery center or prepare for a major operation. Many of our patients can complete the entire treatment during their lunch break. Treatments generally take about 15 minutes. Additionally, patients can immediately leave our offices and drive themselves back to work or home.

Patients can generally resume their daily routine immediately, but we do recommend that you avoid direct sun exposure and minimize overly strenuous activity for a short time.

Once you come into our offices for your treatment, you will be treated with a local anesthetic. This is typically an injected lidocaine. This process may cause some patients very minor discomfort, but is almost immediately numbed by the anesthetic.

Your doctor will then identify all of the areas that require a Radiesse injection. These areas will be sterilized with an antiseptic, and you will then receive your treatment. Immediately following the injections, you can be released to go about your day!

Understanding the Cost

Costs can vary based on each patient’s needs. Some patients will require more syringes of Radiesse than others, or if you are having Radiesse applied in multiple areas, the cost can be higher. Schedule an appointment today with our friendly staff, and we can make sure to get an accurate estimate suited to your needs.

What to Expect

Results will vary by patient, but after your initial consultation, we will review the changes you seek with your medical background. After this analysis, our staff should be able to guide you to what changes you should expect to see. While some changes are immediately seen, the complete results take about a week to realize.

Radiesse treatments are not designed to be permanent wrinkle solutions, and they will diminish or fade with time. Most patients have results that last at least one year, with some patients don’t need additional treatment for two years. Fortunately, if you do need a second treatment, Radiesse can be used again!
